I now have WorkFlowMax (WFM) Practice Manager. I have CSV file of clients to import into WFM.
Here is where I am not thinking clearly so I would appreciate any input.
1) I Currently I treat client numbers by client name. So Ltd company client and sole trader client who has a single owner would be treated as one client. This is because if one goes the whole lot goes. If anyone has experience of WFM, would this work in WFM? If so how?
2) I am surprised WFM PM does not have template tasks, eg tasks for accounts production, VAT returns etc. This would have made things a lot easier. Can anyone share templates with me that I can adapt?
If I can, I would like WFM up and running from Monday.
Thanks

With IRIS ...
... the owner is separate to the business, so each has their own record as you cannot set a personal tax return for a company as a task and similarly you could set a CT600 or LTD accounts as a task for a person.
You can however set realtionships between records - i.e link the person to the company.

Hi - out of interest, are you on a free trial with this? It seems a bit dangerous signing up for something without checking out whether it's suitable for how you want to run your client DB.
Just to expand on what OGA says, even self employed people have 2 records in Iris, one for the person (ie for their personal tax return) and another for the business (ie for it's accounts, VAT payroll etc) but this may not be what WFM intended?
Keep feeding back as there seem to be few accountants around on AccWeb with experience of this so it seems you have volunteered as a guinea pig! :-)

I have just 'signed up' for WorkflowMax as well - again with me it's free so no risk - it looks good on the face of it.
Xero's 'Summercamp' offers a really good (free) webinar on the software which is well worth watching if you haven't already.
IRIS ...
... has most tasks set up ready - they are well over the top, but easier to knock out the stages you don't want...!
