Quick heads up on SA online
Those trying to check online that clients' returns have been logged as received note that the system is taking up to 72 hours to be updated at present. Message added to HMRC service issues page today - 28 January. The Gateway seems to be bearing up well at the moment, but be warned that peak filing last year was on the Friday (although 30th) and peak hour between 4 and 5. If your software has a tendency to get bored, try to avoid these times so you don't get "Timed out" problems. You may not see returns register on the SA system until after 31st so be rigourous with receipts.
