QuickBooks payroll - unfair upgrade policy?

If I am reading things correctly, Intuit are taking their UK QuickBooks 2008 payroll users for a ride? http://adrianpearson.com/2011/03/17/uk-quickbooks-2008-payroll-users-left-in-limbo/.

Do others agree that they should make the cut-off AFTER the filing and reporting deadlines for 2010-11 have passed?
