Revenue Enquiry Heating Up
An enquiry into clients close companies has been going on for 12 months. All information requested has been provided in good time, and we have held a meeting with the inspectors which the clients did not attend, which got us nowhere. We have not given ( despite being requested) personal bank information of the two directors, however we have provided a full means test financial statement and information concerning a property abroad in which the inspector seemed interested! We informed the inspector that unless they responded before 31st Jan we would apply to the commisioners for closure. Nothing came back and so on 10th Feb submitted an aplication to the commsioners to be heard on April 5th. Inspector has now informed us of intention to apply for S20 to obtain clients personal bank records.they have also asked for all of the books and record again for the 3rd time. Is this allowable as we have already applied to the commisioners, and do we supply voluntarily personal information after resisting for so long or wait to see if the commsioners issue a notice? This has been a highly frustrating case with absolutely no feedback from the inspectors and extremely dilitory responses.
