Revenue enquiry - opening letter

Our client has received a notice under Para 24(1) Sch 18 FA 1998 commencing what appears to be a full enquiry into their corporation tax return.
The opening letter includes a questionnaire relating to the software used and a request for copy of the data backup if Sage Line 50 is the software used.

Are there any does and don'ts that I should be aware of? Presumably they have the right to this information. I have always found co operation is the best policy in enquiries.

Is this a good reason to advise clients to use another accounting software package?
