Sage 2008 Upgrade Problem - Bank Rec

Sage 2008 Upgrade Problem - Bank Rec

Didn't find your answer?

The first gremlin seems to have reared it's head, in that Sage appears to have 'lost' the bank reconciliation for month to date ie we have been dumped back to end September, and have to redo the bank rec for the whole of October. Great.

You have been warned!

Update
Just took a call from Sage - they confirm it IS a bug in the programme and there is no timescale for repair at this stage.

Unfortunately we have also had data corruption: our Bank Payment templates have been corrupted over the network. Some have magically repaired themselves by moving them to a local drive then back to the network drive, but some remain corrupted.

Our tech guy strongly recommends that in future we wait for 'issues' to be resolved before we upgrade.

I have no confidence this is the last of our problems, as we've not been through a full monthly cycle.

I am very interested to hear of any other issues from other users - we can't be the only company with problems....can we?

Sage 50 2008 Problems
As Developers we have also fallen down a hole with Bank Rec.

On a seperate note, there are hot fixes on the Sage web site that are required if you are using any applications that use the Sage Data Objects (SDO). These include most third party applications and Sage Job Costing etc.. These updates are esential as they address issues with duplicate postings.

Department References also seem a bit fragile.

Upgrade - dont do it
Client asked me to upgrade to 2008, fine I thought - here I am 2 weeks later with no data as it is totally corrupt. Network upgrade carried out (4 out of 5 companies converted fine but not number5 the live data). Data has been to Newcastle for repair / conversion - sadly no hope of resurrecting it. In the mean time support had me converting from the backup from 2007 etc and guess what 2007 backup is now useless.

Beware is my only advice - it will probably work fine in about a years time after hotfix number 25
