Sage Import - POP

Sage Import - POP

Didn't find your answer?

We operate SAGE LIne 50 V8 and were wondering whether anyone knows if it is at all possible to import a purchase order form into the POP module or if it is able to be done by any other means?
Our 'technical'people have an Excel spreadsheet which they type on the details of the purchase order which they pass to an Accounts processor who then duplicates the data staright into SAGE - we are looking for a way round this double entry if possible - any suggstions would be appreciated?

You need a friendly developer
Purchase orders and sales orders can't be imported into Line 50 with a csv file (which you can do for transactions as long as you set it up properly)

You probably could do with Sage Data Objects but you would need a developer to write it for you. Have a look at the Sage website for developer details and at the Additions section because there might be an add-on that will do what you want.

Network version?
If you are using the network version of Line 50 you could use access rights so that the 'technical' staff can enter the purchase order staight into Sage.

Just a thought.

A solution
Graham,

We have a Palm based Sales Order solution that enables salesmen to take orders on the road and then email them back to Head Office. Head Office can then import them directly into Sage50

I'm sure (my developers will kill me !) we can modify this to do Purchase Orders as our import routine does both, although the front end bit thinks it is doing it for sales orders
