Sage Line 50 Multi -USER??

Sage Line 50 Multi -USER??

Didn't find your answer?

Have I misunderstood or has Sage at last admitted that Line 50 is not really a multi user system.
Some time ago Multi User was restricted to FC now I see that there is a small relaunch to say that Multi User is 2 Users - correct but not what some have assumed.
If I have misunderstood Jay please reply

What is a user ??
Jay,

Sorry, you've lost me.......can you confirm

1 before this launch, both Sage L50 Accountant and Sage L50 Acountant Plus were sold as single concurrent user products

2 before this launch Sage L50 Financial Controller could a be sold as an 'any number' (your words) concurrent user product

3 after this launch, both Sage L50 Accountant and Sage L50 Acountant Plus are now sold as two concurrent user products

4 what computer code are you buying with the 'multi user' Sage L50 Financial Controller that cannot be used with Sage L50 Accountant and Sage L50 Acountant Plus....or are they two completely different products or is Sage L50 Financial Controller really a two concurrent user product

You're the Sage expert....over to you !!!

Regards

Daniel

A Question from SAGE Sceptic - I am flattered!
Daniel Clarke,

Jay Tanna's services as expert does't come free and somebody of Mr clarke's status should know or ought to know better!. I also smell some sarcasm in the question.

However, Jay Tanna as an enthusiast of IT and whose hobby includes Microsoft Products, Sage, Oracle, Programing Languages such as C, C++, Pascal, Delphi, Visual Basic, Javascript etc and PC Networking using MS Windows NT makes the following comments:

1) Sage Line 50 Accountant includes: Core accounting functions such as profit and loss Account, Balance Sheet, budgets and book-Keeping. The Launch or Re-launch of version 8.2 has made possibility to have a Network version installation with maximum of 2 users.

2) Sage Line 50 - Accountant Plus includes: Everything as above plus stock control, invoicing and cheque printing. Again Network version is now available with capability for a maximum of 2 users.

3) Sage Line 50 Financial Controller includes: Everything as Sage Line 50 Accountant Plus plus Sales and Purchase order processing, quotations and Pro-Formas, ODBC connection etc. Multi-user Network version is available as before.

The introduction of 2 users licence may be a welcoming news for some companies but majority of companies using Sage Line 50 products tends to be small with a turnover of less than £2m. Also, these companies have their setup on a standalone PC and staff takes turn to use that particular PC. These machines don't normally have dedicated Internet connection and so web browsing during working hours is not normally encouraged! So questions from people such as Daniel Clarke cannot be answered during normal working hours.

I am surprised to get a question on Sage from Sage sceptics such as Daniel Clarke. If Daniel Clarke has a client who needs further advice then he should come clean rather than trying to sneak in a question on this website to solve his real life problem for free.

Hope this helps but if you need further help then please do not hesitate to contact the following:

I have no intention to market SAGE products for free unless and until SAGE UK can come to some arrangement with me. They are fully aware that I can change my allegiance almost immediately but they have failed to reply to my letters. Watch the space for new and better products!

Horses for courses
Jay,

I'm assuming the message is from Jay, because it seems a bit in the third party mode !!

I'm totally in the horses for course camp and not a 'Sage sceptic' at all. I've reccommended Sage products in this forum before and I will do so in the future - horses for courses!

However, my confusion was (there is no sarcasm, it is genuine) not so much what the products offered, as that is very clear from the web site and any literature, but why Sage can't make the multi user avaiable at Sage FC available to Sage A and Sage A+, because I'm assuming like many products out there that offer three or four upward function versions, they are just grades of the same product - and in this case, by any measure, a very popular product !........I suppose it is purely a practical measure....why offer functions that will not get taken up ?

Regards

Daniel Clark

Multi USer - 2 users and also Network
Viv,

You are correct to say that a launch of Sage Line 50 plus (version 8.x) is a 2 user product branded as: Sage Line 50 Accountant/Accountant Plus (2 users).

There is also Sage Line 50 Financial Controller, network version which can accomodate any number of users but it is expensive about £2k plus.

Are you thinking of buying this version. If so, you will be better off going to a reseller who is also a member of accounts club so that you get a better deal. Some of the discounts can be passed on to you.

Hope this helps.
