Sage on network not sharing same data :(

Sage on network not sharing same data :(

Didn't find your answer?

Hi. We have Sage V12 installed here. The actual data is stored on a stand alone LAN drive. No one PC has local access to the data, they ALL access it over the LAN.

We have three users setup each using sage on their own PC but access the same data structure on the same LAN drive.

The main problem is, if one use adds a product to sage, then it's available visible to other uses to use. Worse still, if another user tries to add the same product because they couldn't see the one another first user added, they are prevented from adding it because Sage says it already exists even though they cannot see it themselves.

All users have full access to sage so that should not be the problem. Even loggin in as manager you do not see all the products entered by all users.

Have looked into the file structure of Sage I notice that it does seem to be maintaining separate product lists files under different user names. I cannot understand why it does this or why or would even want to do this.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

Andy

Have you considered Sage 200?
Andy,

You're not alone in experiencing network issues with Sage 50. It is often indicative that the programme is close to its design limits, in either or both user and transaction numbers.

Depending on the size of your business and potential return on investment an upgrade to Sage 200 or even Sage 1000 may be on the cards.

For a free consultation, email or call me. I work for Sage's largest business partner with the best help desk and apps team in the channel*.

there may be a configuration issue on your network, or the network speed is too low for things to respond. Moreover there couold be data corruption. Please contact if you would like us to review. Barry www.delandalesolutions.com
