Sage & Stock Control

Sage & Stock Control

Didn't find your answer?

Small business struggling to keep up with sales orders and track of stock (retail business with   over 100 lines of stock).

Sage offers Sales order processing and stock control but is it worth the price?

Does anyone use stock control for Sage 50 Accounts/ Professional. Is it a good system ?

Any alternatives which just control sales orders  , raise sales invoices from orders and update stock automatically all at a reasonable price of course.

Thanks in advance.

Sage Stock Control

First, sorry for such a late response.

We use both the full Sales and Purchase Order Processing systems for over 750 products and have no issues with it at all. We PDF purchase orders to send to suppliers, create warehouse pick lists (no prices) and complete (despatch) Sales Orders, which then create invoices. Stock control works fine - we know what stock we have, what has been allocated to customers and what is on order from suppliers. Customised reports give us such information as we require. But remember, Sage is an accounting programme, not a stock control programme, so some "ideal" elements may be missing for your particular requirements.

I can be contacted separately should you wish to go into it in more depth.
