Shares - Ownership and control

Shares - Ownership and control

Didn't find your answer?

Could anyone give me a brief outline of the control implications of selling shares...
for example selling 10% 20% 30% and 40%

I am of course aware that the dividend split will be based on % shareholdings but what rights would a 10% 20% etc shareholder have?

I'm considering selling shares to management, I currently own 99% shares, my wife and I are the directors.

Thanks in advance.

Control
If you retain more than 50% of the voting shares, you will still have control, but you need 75% to pass special resolutions, which are required to change the Articles (constitution) of the company or its name.
