which should I buy initially for my own small corporate practice use only? I've always used Sage in the past but I've heard QB is as good and maybe cheaper?

why not take a look at www.moneysoft.co.uk, I have used it for 10 years now and find it good value.

QB v Sage
Hi Nick
In terms of functionality there is not much between Sage instant and Qb regular (Don't be fooled by the product comparison on Qb's website) and they are similarly priced. This leads us to the question...are there problems with your current software? If so what? will the purchase of quickbooks remedy this? Have you looked into solutions further along the Sage range? Can you afford the time taken for installation and familiarisation with new software? Thought I'd give you something to think about before the vendors start in on this!!
Tony
Always other software?
New is ClearSEAs - refer to http://www.clearseas.co.uk/default.htm
Offering, multi-company, multi-currency, ledgers, SOP, POP, with limited stock control for just £89.00 and you can download a trial version for free. Numerous standard reports with full financial reporting and drill-down. Multiple budget versions allowed. Should suit your requirements as you can build your own top level management/financial reports.

Why not do your own research on QuickBooks.
Nick
You've used Sage so why not do your own research on QuickBooks. Accountants tend not to like it because they can't normally see debit and credit. But it wasn't designed for accountants - it was designed for real people who just wan't to get on and run their businesses rather than have to learn the technicalities of bookkeeping.
Look at the feature packed Pro version - you will be surprised at how much you get for the very reasonable price.

I agree with Chris 100%
it is cheap easy to use and far far more functional than sage, i run all my practice accounts and time records on it, and would npt chage even if offered loads of money!
