small practice software

small practice software

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

I appreciate that this queston has probably been asked before but the search facility on AW isnt that good!

I'm a new start up practice and I'm unsure on what software to use for accounts production and tax.

what do you use and recommend?
Lucy

The annual support fee for us (including charity account formats) is £359.96 + VAT.

Still trying to obtain initial cost figure.

Front office
Lucy,

If you are looking at back-office systems it could be a good time to think about the front-end. We have a Whitepaper about this called Connecting for Profit.

How would it be if all your clients had their bookkeeping done on one system and they all did perfect bookkeeping on-time?

Bob

PTP
I think PTP is a great choice for a new small practice.

The software is excellent - it does what it says. Accounts produces accounts quickly and easily and the tax return software produces accurate tax returns in the same way.

Pricing is also clear and you can buy according to client numbers.

If you want to test it go to their website ptp-group.co.uk I think and you can download a fully working copy of the software. I believe they are the only software company that offers this.

I have used it sucessfully for many years now and dont think you'll find better...but that will be open to debate!!

VT
As often qouted before VT is an excellent program for a small outlay (circa £200). I use this which easily exports in to Drummohr for the tax software. However, since Drummohr was bought out by Iris, is it my imagination or are prices creeping up (£850ish to renew this year)

Not Sure...................
We've had it for some years. I will try and find out.

Whoever you chose, don't just look at the initial cost. The annual renewal fee is just as important when, in reality, there are few if any changes each year to the software.

Proacc
Have a look at Proacc which is now owned by CCH.

Suits are needs and is not too expensive. (don't tell them I said so!)
