Hi.
A clients employee has gone off sick and will not return for some weeks. Her contract of employment states its at the companys discetion whether they are paid SSP or a normal wage whilst off sick. Our client thinks if they pay SSP she will return to work quicker than if she is paid a normal salary. Could our client pay her a normal salary initially and if they think she is swinging the lead pay her SSP only later. Could this cause complications later.
I have advised him to only pay SSP!
