SSP calculation

SSP calculation

Didn't find your answer?

Hi.

We have an employee. Works 2 days per week. Earns over the LEL.

Sick for 2 weeks. (so they were ill for 14 days - therefore 4 working days).

Now, when I work through the HMRC calculation site, it says in effect that 3 of the normal working days are not qualifying, therefore they get one day SSP - £30odd.

If I put it through my payroll software it says £110 SSP.

Bit lost. thanks for your help..

Software Setup

It sounds as if your payroll software is treating all weekdays as normal workings days. Try changing the setting so that only the two days which your employee works are classed as working days, and then it should calculate the correct SSP for it.
