Streamline machines

Streamline machines

Didn't find your answer?

I am currently using a dione streamline machine in my cafe and I have 2 questions:-

1.The card charges range from 1.8% - 2.4% - do any terminal operators offers charge free periods as banks do to new customers ? Charges amount to over £100 / month which when added to bank charges is a significant amount. Especially at the moment when we're all feeling the pinch.

2. We use the same line for our telephone as we do our terminal and in busy times this causes problems besides getting a seperate line are there any other options ?

Thanks
Toni

check out the FSB..........
..because you can get great card machine deals via the membership.
I have guided a few clients that way and all are happy and better off:)

Cardserve I think
But I am considering changing bank to Barclays to get the 18mth - 2 year free charge period and also see what sort of a deal they can do on supplying their terminal. Its crazy but my current bank will not reduce the charges even faced with losing the account. Why is it that banks treat their most loyal customers the worst ?????

info
I recall an investigation being launched last year into the charges I am not sure if it was the FSA or OFT,however they were given a deadline to submit proposals for reducing their charges I think this was December 2008.There is ongoing consultation to review the merchant terminal providers submissions.
Are you using cardnet or cardserve with your streamline ?
