Tax on overseas rental property

Tax on overseas rental property

Didn't find your answer?

Client is UK resident and lets out a property in Spain for which she has quite a hefty amount of tax deducted at source. The tax reclaimed in the UK is nil as she made a loss, therefore is there any way of reclaiming the tax direct from the Spanish authorities?? Is this possible??
Many thanks

Do you mean complete a tax return in Spain to reclaim the tax paid?

Tax Return
I suppose that the withholding tax in Spain has been 24%.

As there has been a withholding tax on the income your client will need to complete a return in order to claim the excess of tax withheld.

I hope that helps.
