tax return amendment

tax return amendment

Didn't find your answer?

When preparing this years tax return I found that wrong figures had been used in capital gains comp. last year. About to submit amended return but client has received an enquiry letter. Is it too late to send amended return. ?
Thanks for interest and hopefully replies.

Is the enquiry about capital gains?
You didn't say what the enquiry is targeted at. However, now that an enquiry is open, if it's targeted at something else, it's best to say something like "while looking again at the return, we notice that ....." and get it dealt with at the same time.

It shows co-operation, which can't be bad.
