Tax Return Paper Filing Deadline 31st Oct., & Postal Disruption

Tax Return Paper Filing Deadline 31st Oct., &...

Didn't find your answer?

....does anyone know?  I assume so.  I have seen a letter that makes me think its been extended to 14/11/09.  Would an appeal be necessary?  As I imagine there'll be loads.  Including appeals on the back of this for returns that would have been late anyway.......?

.

no its not extended, but  (1) who on earth in practice files paper returns? (2) So long as you pay by the 31st Jan I was under the impression no fine arises in any case, not that we file any paper returns of course (apart from for those we cant e-file, but are of course exempt from this deadline)

Thanks to first two respondents.

Third respondent - I do (p'ship paper returns before deadline where I can, to limit the software I have to purchase - Andica - excellent value for smaller practices as you pay per submission - and therefore keep my costs, and correspondingly fees, down).
