We are a small practice with around 250 clients and not enough time to spend on sourcing software (to busy working) Could any one suggest any good software to enable us to file tax returns on line without having to use HMRC's software. I do not like computer packages (a bit old fashioned) so idealy I would be looking for something that resembles the paper copies. Any suggestions welcome.
Thank you
SALLY

PTP
I personally think PTP is super.
If you are not too keen on computers/software you may like the way with PTP you actually see the tax return on screen.
Internet filing is also very easy and quick with PTP.
Drummohr Tax Assistant
We have used Drummohr Software Tax Assistant for many years and can highly recommend this excellent product .

Legatio Ftax
Just to say that I've used legatio ftax this year, first year away from HMRC's software.
As a new practice with not many clients as yet, it's cheap and easy to use. On screen it looks like the paper tax return.
When I did have a query I emailed support at 10.30pm and got a response that resolved my query 20 minutes later - I was amazed.
You should look at what other software will feed directly into the tax softare to save duplicating entries. Different accounts packages feed directly into different tax packages so worth considering. (I think vt accounts feeds into ftax but not 100% sure).
I am now looking at PTP for final accounts software so may be changing tax software to match in the future but my experience of ftax is a positive one. Filing online was very easy too.
