Taxcalc & iXBRL

Taxcalc & iXBRL

Didn't find your answer?

Hi

Having worked for a large firm for almost 12 years I decided enough was enough, quit and have set myself up on my own ...

I have spent what feels like an age researching software today and have come to the conclusion that VT Final Accounts is the way to go as it includes VT transaction + meaning I can undertake the bookkeeping easily for companies and also will produce the statutory accounts I need to do plus will do the iXBRL tagging for me at what appears to be a click of the button ... always good.

I have also come to the conclusion that moneysoft payroll manager is the payroll software to get as well, it looks easy to use and I found it mentioned lots on here (in a positive manner!).

I am now struggling with software for corporation tax returns ... this could be due to the amount of time I have spent staring at the screen!  TaxCalc seems to be the one to go with but ...

1) Is TaxCalc CT Unlimited the way to go ... costs a lot less than ProSuite and currently I have no need for personal tax software (although I can see that they do personal tax software as well at what appears an exceedingly good price) or any of the other extras that Prosuite has.

2) Does TaxCalc CT Unlimited produce an iXBRL tagged CT comp for me? and if so will this be minimum tagging or full tagging (OK not needed until 2013 .. but useful to know).

Advice / comments would be greatly appreciated.

Final question .. I am currently running Microsoft Excel Starter having never got round to getting full MS Office .. is this going to cause a problem with any/all of the above?  I know I need to get it sorted but that would be one less expense!

Thank you for your help

Rachael

iXBRL

Yes it Taxcal produces its own internal iXBRL CT comp.

VT Final Accounts accounts printouts are basic, we just stick to our software and use the iXBRL  function to add it to the the taxcal.
