Tax/vat position of a non resident trading via the internet

Tax/vat position of a non resident trading via...

Didn't find your answer?

We have been approached by a non uk tax resident who intends to set up a business selling hoildays ( customised bike tours ) using a uk registered website. - Any idea of the tax /vat position of such a trade ?

It will be run as a sole trader out of a tax haven.

Registered or hosted or trading premises ...?
Registered - i.e holidays.co.uk
or where the site is hosted or physical location of trading premises?

Suspect hosting location (coupled with physical location) may be the critical factor.

If this is the case what is the point in hosting a .co.uk (services) site anywhere but offshore - to do otherwise would be volunteering for the UK tax regime (?? possibly not a good idea)

Surely the determining factor on 'place of business' when starting an internet Co. is whether one is delivering goods or services. Goods rely upon a physical delivery whereas services are intangible and can be located anywhere
