Temporary PAYE Ref

Temporary PAYE Ref

Didn't find your answer?

Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate if a solution can be found to the following situation before the end of today. Basically, it's a new ltd company formed last year with the only employee being the director.

The company has not yet registered for PAYE, however, the director has taken a wage from
the company in 2007-08. Is ther a way I can file an Employer's Annual Return before today's deadline and hence avoid the penalties.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

PAYE ref over the phone
If you ring up and register today they will give you a PAYE ref over the phone - I did this sucessfully on Friday.

File online today using your agent login - should still qualify for incentive.

Paper P35
I suppose you could fill in a paper P35 and in the reference numbers section state "NEW CASE - AWAITING REFERENCE NUMBERS" and hansd deliver it to a local HMRC office.
Two downsides :-

(1) No online fling possible without reference numbers - so lose £100.

(2) I expect penalty notice might be issued using new reference number, will need appealing by reference to "NEW CASE" P35 filed.
