Trainee Gipsy needs address

Trainee Gipsy needs address

Didn't find your answer?

My situation :-

I have a practice with around two hundred clients.
I work from home and my address is the registered office address for around a hundred companies for whom we are also Co Sec.
I have no staff.
All my work is postal or via the internet.
I never see clients at my home.

My problem :-

I am planning to move home. I will probably be taking a short let for a few months and then be moving again (maybe twice). Between these lets I may also take a month or so holiday (no point in paying rent for an empty house).

So I am looking for a cheap permanent office address which could even be used as a temporary personal mail address. Note to clarify “cheap” : I can rent an office in town here for about £ 3,500. I would like to do the job for much nearer £ 1,000.

I do not want a PO box. Because most of my work is postal I want a proper address (preferably a professional sounding one). I will never actually need to work in this office.

I wonder if anyone out there uses a correspondence service or another arrangement and finds it to work.
If so, any pointers would be helpful, or any snares to be aware of.

Note that I am in Somerset. For obvious logistical reasons, I would prefer the address to be very local but, if the price is right, any part of England would be worth considering.

Many thanks.

Sherman

How do you do it?
200 clients. No staff. Maximum weeks worked in a year 46 (?). Maximum chargeable hours say 40 to take into account administration, MLR requirements etc

Total hours 1840

Average per client 9 hours 12 minutes.

100 companies and you do the company secretarial as well as the tax and presumably the accounts.

Are you superman?

virtual office
I use a Regus VO and it works very well for me as I live in France most of the time. Cost around £120 pcm for the full service (telephone answering and mailing address)

the problem you are going to have
as i have found in the past is the number of clients.
Unless the mail has specifically got your name on it, for example c/o sherman holt corporation, then there is a chance the mail will be returned.
The option you require is a box no. or studio no. at the address you will be using, so that all mail, regardless of the name, will go that that box no.
Also, you may find that they may want to charge you more than the basic fee for a single company, as you are having mail delivered for more than one business.

Admirer 1

I must admit, when I read the posting, I had to reread!

My thought was of all the hassle of being co sec for all those companies.

I guessed that Sherman has a particular angle/niche, and that quite a lot of clients would be from a similar trade or industry.

It would be interesting to know!
