Value of share in company

Value of share in company

Didn't find your answer?

To value someones interest in a company is it as straightforward as shareholders funds divided by shares issued then multiply by the number they hold?

Regrettably not
That is book value per share.

The value of a share is more an art than a science, but always boils down to working out what somebody else would pay for the shares.

HMRC have an entire book on the subject.

Here's a good overview. Then flick back to the manual contents and enjoy the copious detail...
