VAT on Measures to Reduce Carbon Emissions

VAT on Measures to Reduce Carbon Emissions

Didn't find your answer?

I know that Tesco and a few other companies have started to employ wind turbines at various sites. According to HMRC, VAT on this expenditure will not be reclaimable. Anyone else had experience in this area?

Who says the VAT is blocked from claiming ?
I had been hoping someone else more knowledgable on the subject would have responded to your question by now, but as no one has, I'd be interested into looking into the matter further.

I would be most interested to know the specific source of your information about VAT reclaim being blocked - it seems most unlikely to be correct to me, but if you could point me in the direction of the source I'd like to investigate this bizarre anomally further.

The usual blocked VAT subjects do make sense : exempt VAT, cars, non-business expenditure - the one you mention seems exactly the opposite to expectations.
