Has anyone been recently experiencing problems with registering a client for VAT online at HMRC via their agent login?
On the first attempt I (foolishly) entered all the basic information using the Continue button without using Save & Exit along the way. On the last Continue click I was presented with an error message; when I returned to the online registration process all the original information had been lost.
On the second attempt I clicked Save & Exit at the foot of each page before returning to continue the application. This worked fine until I reached the business activities page. Upon return to continue the activity information I had entered had not been saved. I tried again but the data was not held on exit.
Unfortunately online support is too busy to take my call - I have to try later. The priority line can't deal with a technical query.
If anyone has any similar experiences but received a fix, details of the solution would be gratefully received.

on-line VAT return
Try changing your internet browser. I was unable to submit a VAT return via Firefox and had to use Internet explorer. This worked.
