VAT registered companies

VAT registered companies

Didn't find your answer?

Hello. We are book-keepers, and strade through a limited company. small turnover, so we are not VAT registered.
I want to start offering database, programming, and web-solutions. This is a totally seperate venture.
Could i set up a new limited company, which handles all of my programming work, and register that for VAT, but leave the book-keeping company non-vat registered?
I do not forsee book-keeping clients wanting the programming service, so i expect a completely different set of clients.
Would the VAT say they are linked and therefore both must be VAT registered becuase i work for both?
Many thanks in advance....

Paul

In my humble opinion..

..you would have no problems in using two separate companies for each trade without getting into any trouble with the Vat man.
