VAT Registration

VAT Registration

Didn't find your answer?

I have a client who is a joint partner in a pub and hence has a VAT registration.

She also has a small shop which sells goods which she does not charge VAT on, does she need to charge VAT on the sales in her shop due to the fact that the partnership is VAT registered.

If she needs to charge VAT in her shop, can she use the current VAT number or does she need a new one.

This may be a fairly simple question, but I really would appreciate some assistance with this.

Thanks

treat as separete business
The two business are separate.

Therefore treat totally independently

No VAT to be charged for small shop (assuming she is below VAT registration threshold)

No
I am assuming that it is the partnership that has registered for vat. In which case this is a separate vat registration and your client would not need to register as a sole trader as long as her turnover fell below the vat threshold.
