I am considering using VT software to process accounts for small Ltd co's as well as sole traders and partnerships. VT recommend Drummohr Technology's Tax Assisstant - but is this the best option?
Thanks.

very easy
Data import from vt to druhnmor is very quick and easy , and the capital allowances are in the tax program too
I use PTP.
I have had no problems as yet. I am currently using it for sole traders and pships.
Capital allownaces have to be entered manually but that s not really a problem.

Hi
We use both VT and Drummohr and have never had a problem. We tried other software combinations but could not find one that worked as well.
VT is great in so far as one can customise the output.

Try Digita Taxability Pro
I would strongly recommend looking at Taxability Pro from Digita. It links to VT Accounts very well. As for the Tax software itself, it has a reputation second to non (as you will probably know if you follow Accounting Web!). Entry level pricing starts for 25 clients so it won't break the bank. For more details, please drop me an email to [email protected]
PS - If you've not yet bought VT, you should also take a look at Accounts Pro from Digita.
Drummohr
Works well, doesn't fall over, you get to speak to a hands on person for the few problems there are (almost always a Windows / PC issue rather than the tax software). I've never had a rejection from the Revenue, as you can validate it before submitting.
But I guess we all like what we are used to.
Drummohr
I have found Drummohr to be user friendly in use, an advantage if you have any staff, totally reliable over the last 10 years of use, with excellent support. Value for money product and I would not change this piece of software for any reason
VT & Drummohr
We use both and I am looking at linking our own spreadsheet income and expenditure spreadsheets straight in to VT accounts to make a more integrated package that produces managemnet accounts as the data is input.
Drummohr is MS Access based and by linking tables in to your own database you can keep more detailed custom client data that gives better management info ie timesheets, invoicing and payment data all on one system
Objective Tax / LKA
Objective Tax /LKA integrates well with VT Accounts. At £269, I've found it to be very cost effective, as you can do an unlimited number of tax returns. It includes self assessment, business tax, personal tax, partnerships, CGT, FBI and various tax administration extra's.
How long does it take to complete the whole return
manually.
if thats the case why bother with a tax package
PTP
I love the look and feel of PTP and the link with VT is simple and hasn't failed in 5 years. As for CA's, I have never seen any particular benefit in having them linked ... how long does it take manually?!
PTP
I have been using PTP for many years. It's easy to use and I have only once had to refer to the support line who were very friendly and helpful (and it was a Windows problem in the end).
The link from VT couldn't be simpler.
