I have a client who needs an inexpensive, ie cheap, warehouse management system
The system should be standalone and is not required to interface with any order systems.
As goods are received they wiull be put awat into storage bays or pick faces. As pick faces run down, goods will be moved from theie alternative location and placed on the pick face.
This essentially is the requirement, but from what I can see, there are no simple solutions. Anybody with any ideas?

Warehouse management software
Artisan have a comprehensive stock control module which can be run on it's own or with a number of other complimentary modules.
You'll find info at www.artisan.co.uk

Re: Warehouse Management
Surely an Access database would be the cheapest
and easiest option? A db could cover all location, stock level and analysis requirements and be as simple or as complicated as required. Input/output could be customised as needed and the whole db created quite easily.
Warehouse
If you were to use a stock module with multi bins. The stock could be increased by misc in with a date and booking ref if required and then moved across to the other bin as that stock is downdated. The question then comes how is the customer currently booking in and out the stock because this problem surely could be handled with the software they use in that regard.
