What is the value of tag lines for an accountancy practice

What is the value of tag lines for an...

Didn't find your answer?

I do not see the point of tag lines as part of the firms name. They just do not mean much. They are obvious memorable ones like "every little helps". The other one I have seen is working for you not the taxman!

I have a tag line. I am thinking of having it removed. I think they are just pretentious.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Is there a value to  having tag lines?

Expert. Forensic. Accountants.

On our website we use the tagline:

Expert. Forensic. Accountants.

Because we are expert forensic accountants and because we are expert and we are forensic and we are accountants.

Whether using it brings us any extra business is another question (but the cost of it is zero).

I think its a good thing to have
A tag or strap line, whatever you like to call it, is a great thing if it is though through properly.

It helps strengthen your brand awareness in the mind of your customers, prospects and professional contacts. You have just proved how good strap lines can be by mentioning tescos every little helps, something we all associate with them.

You can of course do more harm than good if the tag line is not in line with your brand, for example a forward thinking modern firm would not want a tag line of "traditional accounting for you" or similar, it just doesn't work.

It is a shame you can't tell us what yours is, would love to know :)

Oh and I agree with david above, it is free to have it so a big plus point in my eyes :)

Yours is fine Fast tab

Its not pretentious in the least. A local one to me uses 'it's not whay you make it's what you keep' which I can see the point of but I suspect is not unique. I like David Winch's a lot. There is another local practice which I think is one of the 2020 offspring simply called .... WOW!  No need for a strapline there except possibly  WHAT?

Good fun and self-promotion?

I guess a good tag line makes you stand out from the crowd.

We have two, there is:

"There's nothing quite like...www.rossmartin.co.uk" which is on our site and emails, I also use the one I am signing off with:

"Virtual tax support for accountants and their clients": www.rossmartin.co.uk
