Zero rated VAT

Zero rated VAT

Didn't find your answer?

If I make a sale to an English company, invoiced to England, (I am English based and registered etc) but the goods are despatched abroad direct from the supplier, am I able to zero rate?

VAT supplies
Yes, as no supply in UK (By despatch abroad, I presume you mean it is not being sent to the UK - because if it is, then there is VAT as you are then making a UK supply) - but you must be able to prove it! Make sure you get a copy of the "proof of delivery" or shipping note to show where it came from and went - you could have a problem in the future.

Something else to be aware of - if the goods are supplied and delivered in the same country - you may be liable to their VAT!
