Zipping Errors in Viztopia 5.1

Zipping Errors in Viztopia 5.1

Didn't find your answer?

We have just upgraded from Viztopia 4016 to the Viztopia 5.1 package.

We are now getting Out of Memory errors intermittently when zipping client data. This is performed from the open client screen and selecting the zip option from the menu.

We have contacted support and tried various methods to prove where the problem lies. I have re-installed 5.1 and checked Novell client versions and record locking parameters on the server.

Bear in mind we have had no problems regarding zipping in the previous version of Viztopia. This error does happen on different clients at different times.

Can anybody shed any light on the matter or are there others experiencing the same problems. I have been told by support that there are no other calls regarding this.

Viztopia has been installed on a Novell 5.11 server running the latest updates and running on a windows 2000 sp3 machine 256MB Ram running the latest client. The software has also been installed onto a local machine and disconnected from the network. We are still getting these errors. Winzip has even been installed and tested t osee if there was a difference.
Many Thanks

Chris

Viztopia development team is currently investigating zipping iss
Hi Chris,

The Viztopia support team has escalated your call and a couple of others in a similar vein to my team for further investigation.

We have attempted to contact all clients who have reported issues with zipping/unzipping in an attempt to determine what similarities exist. You were unavailable on the two attempts we have made so far.

The problem you have described is quite different to that being experienced by the other sites I have been able to reach. The only consistent fact to date is that the issues are being experienced on a Novell Network. We have therefore set up this environment internally and are attempting to re-create the situation we have had details of so far.

I would be grateful if you (and anyone else experiencing similar problems) could contact me so that we can track down and resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Regards
