Last year, the government announced its crusade on 'red tape' and regulation for small businesses, with David Cameron saying in 2011: "I want us to be the first government in modern history to leave office having reduced the overall burden of regulation, rather than increasing it."
Over the last 12 months, small businesses have seen the introduction of measures such as the relaxation of health and safety laws and a series of employment law reforms. But how effective have they been, and has the government really stuck to its word?
