Cheap and light notebooks and hybrid tablets-smartphones-laptops are among some of the latest products supplier Asus hopes to sell to small businesses, reports Nick Huber.
Tablets and ultrabooks (Intel’s answer to the Macbook Air) are increasingly popular with small businesses.
At a geek-chic product launch at a Soho bar in central London, Asus revealed its new product range, including:
PadFone
- Can be used as a phone. Converts into a 10-inch touch-screen tablet by slotting the phone into a dock in the back of the screen
- The tablet docks with a keyboard to create what looks like a traditional netbook. The docking monitor can convert the PadFone into a fourth type of machine: a desktop computer
- The idea is “modular” computing; different devices for different needs. This could be useful for workers who spend a lot of time out of the office
