AXA launches micro business insurance service

Insurance group AXA has launched a new direct insurance service, offering small businesses, start-ups and sole traders ‘bespoke protection’, flexibility and support from its online portal.
Responding to a desire from the micro-end of the business community for an alternative solution, AXA Business Insurance now has a dedicated website where businesses can choose tailored cover in the following areas:
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Public liability insurance
- Employers' liability insurance
The ‘online journey’ is being targeted at specific trades and professions, of up to eight employees (up to £2m turnover), allowing businesses to buy exactly the cover they need and reducing potential start-up costs.
Darrell Sansom, managing director at AXA Commercial Insurance, told AccountingWEB that the offering had moved on from the traditional ‘bundled’ approach.
