HMRC toughens on incomplete LDF applications


HMRC will be tougher with people who make mistakes in paperwork when using the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF) for settling tax liabilities, according to a letter sent by HMRC to tax advisers.

From April, disclosures which do not contain all the required information will not be accepted and if the missing information is not supplied within a reasonable period of time "will be interpreted as non-cooperation and consideration may be given to withdrawal of the beneficial LDF terms", law firm Pinsent Masons quoted an HMRC letter as saying.
