HMRC is running face-to-face workshops across the UK in March, as it seeks views on how to engage with agents digitally.

The Revenus is aiming to take the replicate the good points of Local Working Together groups digitally.

It said it also wanted to identify what really needs to be undertaken by face-to-face meetings and look at other ways it can engage with agents in the future.

The up to three-hour workshops will allow agents to have a two-way conversation with HMRC about their views on a more digital way of working and its benefits and barriers.

In addition, the Revenue will also show what it is doing digitally with SMEs and wants agents' thoughts on what can be developed for them.

The sessions will take place in Portsmouth, Glasgow, Manchester, Aberdeen, Cardiff, London, Newcastle, Preston, Belfast and more locations. Some locations have a morning and an afternoon session and the full list is available on the GOV.UK website.

To register  your interest for a session, email [email protected] by 28 February.

For those who will miss the sessions however there are two online versions, 10 March at 10am and 19 March at 2pm.

I will be attending the Exeter one for Accweb...

As a member of the Working Together team for ATT I will be attending the Exeter event on Tuesday 24 March.

Following the event I will be writing an article on my experience (!) which will be placed onsite a couple of days later.

Any member who wants me to try to bring any 'moan' to HMRC's attention please let me know.

Of course an update on the most recent consultation will not be forthcoming as its deadline is May see here: 'The Demise of the £100 penalty'

>> but if there is anything else please let me know either by commenting to this, Rachael's article or via my blog 'The Final Straw'.

Agenda for the WT meetings

I emailed Steve Massey at HMRC who is organising the events and he sent this agenda:

Welcome and IntroductionsOverview, Background, ObjectivesChallenges and Barriers to Digital EngagementOpportunities and Benefits for Digital EngagementNext StepsHMRC Digital Support – PresentationSummary and Close

>>> its the use of word 'Engagement' that concerns me - rather like the continued use of 'customers'!!

Doesnt seem to be any time set aside for comments from the floor - I'll let you know what happens.
