Join our 2014 Practice Excellence Programme
AccountingWEB’s Practice Excellence Programme is up and running again, with an expanded range of features and information to help firms zero in on what it takes to run a successful accountancy firm in 2014.
Client satisfaction is at the heart of the Practice Excellence Programme, which has evolved from independent client surveys that AccountingWEB has run since 2011.
“We have been dedicated to helping accountants develop and be recognised for what they do since the start,” said AccountingWEB publisher Andy North. “So we’ve now created content, an awards programme and a client-driven satisfaction scheme to support that objective based on the feedback we’ve had from participants over the past year.”
The three individual elements link together to create an expanded Practice Excellence Programme that will continue throughout the year. Here’s a bit more detail on each one:
- Client Satisfaction Recognition Scheme - Hundreds of practices have taken part in our surveys in the past four years, helping us to build up a database of 8,000 responses that reveal what it takes to achieve superior ratings from clients. Using these scores as a benchmark, the expanded recognition scheme will give firms an independent measure of their client satisfaction levels and help to identify areas that might benefit from increased attention. All firms that join the scheme will receive a report detailing their ratings compared to other similar firms, while those achieve 90%+ satisfaction ratings from their clients will be entitled to display a “Client satisfaction recognition” logo on their marketing materials. Participating firms can also use the results as supporting evidence if they choose to enter our Practice Excellence Awards (see below).
- Practice Excellence Awards - Now in their fourth year, the awards celebrate excellence and seek to share best practices across the profession. Entries will be accepted soon for firms and individuals who go the extra mile in the following categories: Small, Medium and Large Practice of the Year; Unqualified/Trainee of the Year; Innovative Firm of the Year; Practice Growth of the Year; Technology Champion of the Year; Client Payroll Champion of the Year. Entrants will be asked to submit short written forms that, together with other relevant evidence, will be used by our expert judges to choose the winners.
- Practice Excellence Conference - The Practice Excellence Awards ceremony will provide a fitting climax to a day of professional networking and education in London on 6 November. The day is designed to equip you with a roadmap for action guided and facilitated by other firms taking part in the programme, and experts from within and beyond the profession. Based around a series of themed workshops, the conference will let you set your own agenda for the day to choose sessions that align with what you most want to achieve in your firm.
The expanded Practice Excellence Programme and conference have been shaped by the feedback from participating firms, said Andy North.
“We have been dedicated to helping accountants develop and be recognised for what they do since the start. So this year we’re doing more to help people achieve excellence by delivering targeted content and learning.”
AccountingWEB’s drive for excellence has been recognised by leading business software supplier, SAP. In addition to supporting a companion series of Practice Excellence MasterClass articles throughout the year, SAP has sponsored the Practice Excellence Awards and offered this comment:
“We know exactly how important accountants are to helping businesses grow and we want to do all we can to support that. That’s our business too and we’re focussed on developing technology innovations that not only help businesses run like never before, but also improve the lives of people everywhere.”
