Langbar fraudster to face disciplinary board

Accountant and former Langbar International chief executive Geoffrey Stuart Pearson will go before a disciplinary board next month in relation to his involvement in a multi-million pound fraud.

Pearson, an ICAEW member, was convicted and jailed last May for his role in the establishment, listing and affairs of Langbar, and specifically for falsely claiming that the company had £356m in assets with Banco do Brasil.

He will now face the Accountancy and Actuarial Discipline Board (AADB) on 3 February 2012 at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London.
