Sage Live, formerly known as Sage Life, was officially launched at the 2015 Sage Summit in New Orleans today and will be hitting the UK market imminently.

The new real-time Sage social accounting solution is now available in the US and will go live in the UK and Ireland by the end of the summer.

Sage Live, developed in partnership with Salesforce and expected to be used by both businesses and accountants, will hit the UK in a matter of weeks rather than months, according to UK and Ireland managing director Lee Perkins.

The cloud-based solution was conceived back in January and revealed to the market in May at Accountex as Sage Life, but was recently rebranded as Sage Live to reflect its real-time functionality.

It provides a single live view of a company’s business operations and finances via a scoreboard and connects with Salesforce’s app exchange.

According to Stephen Kelly, chief executive of the software giant, Sage Live was built for a specific point of transformation: “Smashing down the wall between the front and back office,” he said during his keynote.

The launch of Sage Live in the US comes among a number of key product announcements at the summit. Kelly emphasised recent investment to "co-create with customers" a range of new and refreshed, cloud-based products.

These include Sage X3 in the cloud, a more connected mid-market line in the re-branded Sage 100c and 300c, and further insight into its cloud-based accounting platform Sage Impact.

Sage X3 offers three options for deployment including on-premise on a customer’s infrastructure, as a service in Amazon Web Services managed by Sage, or as a service hosted on the cloud of a Sage partner.

Sage Impact, the fully customisable Sage online hub for accountants, has been developed in partnership with the accounting community and was shown off to attendees at the summit. Sage’s small business accounting solution, Sage One which sits in the Sage Impact portfolio, has over the past year been completely redesigned as well. A number of new apps were launched at the conference.

At the event Kelly also spoke about the death of ERP in its product line: “We will not use the term ERP to describe any of our products. ERP is a 25-year old industry term: Expense, pain, regret,” he said.

To signal its flexibility with its customer base Kelly said in his opening keynote: “Sage loves on-premise. Sage loves hybrid. Sage loves the cloud. Sage will not force you to migrate.”

Himanshu Palsule, chief technology officer and head of product strategy, added that Sage’s product line would support "the golden triangle" of accounting, payroll, and payments while simplifying the software and centralising workflow.

Describing a renaissance taking place at Sage, Kelly outlined a roadmap for investment in global products, partnerships and people, built on the aspiration to keep every customer for life.

Kelly sent out a final message to customers that the company has become ‘One Sage’ and rallied his colleagues around the world to think and act as one, placing customers' changing needs at the heart of everything they do.
