Port Vale unaffected by winding-up order

A winding-up petition served to Port Vale by HMRC over an unpaid tax bill will not affect the football club.

According to the BBC, Norman Smurthwaite, chairman of the League One club, told the BBC that HMRC has taken the action against PVFC Limited, the club's holding company.

..re the ownership of Vale, where your article is a tad misleading.

Wildes was only ever the public face of the buy out, the money man always being Smurthwaite. The two fell out over a year ago now and Wildes rode off into the sunset with a healthy pay off.
