RSM Tenon moves forward with new CEO

Former PwC partner Chris Merry has taken charge of troubled accountancy firm RSM Tenon as chief executive following Andy Raynor’s exit earlier this year.

Chartered accountant Merry joins the firm from corporate finance business Matrix where he was chief executive. Prior to that he was FD and then chief executive at listed specialist recruiter Whitehead Mann, and CFO of law firm Clifford Chance, having starting his career at PwC.

Raynor stepped down at the end of January after the firm announced in a trading update it expected to post a loss for the last six months of 2011.

After Raynor’s departure, along with chairman Bob Morton, former BDO managing Jeremy Newman was brought in as a ‘crisis consultant’. RSM Tenon confirmed that Newman will continue to work with the firm in his advisory role.
