Sports clubs to benefit from CASC scheme

Over 40,000 clubs could benefit from an expanded tax relief for local sports clubs, the government has said.

Amateur clubs will see the amount they can earn tax free in income and rent increase from 30,000 to £50,000 and from £20,000 to £30,000 respectively before paying corporation tax.

We have a few CASC registered clients, and they are all deeply suspicious of and worried about this 'simplification'. The headlines make attractive reading, but how often does a 'simplification' turn out to both complicate matters and to generate more tax?
