Practitioner Will Parry will be enjoying a few extra treats this winter after being picked at random out of the digital hat containing more than 5,000 respondents to AccountingWEB’s Software Satisfaction Survey.

Will, who runs Parry & Co Chartered Accountants in Angelsea, North Wales, was over the moon when informed that he had scooped the grand prize of £1,000 in Amazon vouchers.

Five other survey participants also won £100 in Amazon vouchers as runners-up in the prize draw: Henry McIntosh, Mike Hall, Shelagh Brownlow, Daniel Grace and Maria (a happy Thesarus payroll software user who asked us not to reveal her full name).

The prize draw is the first stage in the wider Software Satisfaction Awards process. Tomorrow will see the publication of the full shortlists of the best performing developers in nine business and practice software categories, ranging from accounts to tax, expenses, payroll, practice management and document management.

In the week or two following the release of the shortlists, AccountingWEB will publish overviews of each market segment, and the characteristics of the firms offering software in those areas. Once readers have had a chance to review the contenders, the winners will be revealed in a series of multimedia announcements on Thursday 11 November.

The Software Satisfaction Awards are part of a long-term project designed to encourage continuous improvement within the business software industry by publishing annual satisfaction ratings and comparative figures.

The survey results will go through further analysis and follow-up research, with findings and detailed user and product summaries available to software suppliers in tailored benchmark reports. For more information about this market research service, contact your account manager on our sales team.

The Software Satisfaction Awards survey results will also be compiled into more detailed buyer’s guides to the different kinds of software that will be published in the coming months.
