Xero to host UK user conference

In what UK managing director claims as a symbol that Xero has truly arrived, the New Zealand-owned cloud accounting supplier is holding its first UK user conference on 27 September.

The Xerocon event, due to take place at Chartered Accountants Hall in London, will offer up a keynote speech from Xero founder Rod Drury, backed with user case studies, technology presentations and Q&A panel sessions. After all the shop talk, there will be an awards dinner for Xero users and partners in the evening.

It’s not far different from the sort of event you might experience with other software vendors such as Sage or IRIS.

But that’s the whole point, according to Turner. With more than 100,000 users worldwide and around 10,000 customers in the UK, Xero has reached a size where it merits being taken as seriously as the accountancy’s software market leaders.

“Unless there's another cloud accounting software company that's been running conferences for accountants in practice in secret, I think I'm safe in saying this is a UK first,” said Turner.

We're coming up on two hundred registrations only a couple of weeks since we opened registrations but we have a few places left.

We're trying to do some stuff a little differently with a strong emphasis on real world practice experience with representatives from UK and international practices talking about what they learned about modernising the way they work with their clients.

We'll also have our lead product manager as well as our CTO on stage sharing the details of our future roadmap, and some lively debate from people like Dennis Howlett.

Should be a great event.
