Xero’s new find and recode feature is launching today.

The release date was announced at Xero’s roadshow event at The Watershed in Bristol last week. The update is one of a slew of 150 new updates this year so far.

“Xero enables your clients to run their own business, but sometimes they code things to the wrong place,” said Michael Graves of Xero’s product innovation team. “Find and recode makes fixing client mistakes easy by allowing transactions to be searched for and fixed en masse.”

Advisors will find this new feature under the ‘advisors’ drop down menu. Both the recode routine and the BI dashboard were previewed at the Xerocon event in February, but were overshadowed by Xero's introduction of a payroll module for the UK market.

The Xero team also gave more insight into their much awaited business performance dashboard. The interface is a set of indicators that will help small businesses better measure and understand their performance, aims to give small businesses more information to work more effectively with their advisors.

“It’s all a part of a new look,” explained Mike Day, operations director for Xero. In his opening remarks he laid out the company’s focus for 2015, their so-called “wall of innovation”.

It consists of three areas: Connected services (two way communication with the banks), extending the business platform (e.g. continuing to grow their add on ecosystem), and big data for small business - a point of particular emphasis.

this facilty was in Quicken years ago

sadly it appears that re coding has to be done on an individual basis in QB , will check online and see if it can be done globally
