1 out 3 accountants feel undervalued by clients - are you that 1 ?

We've undertaken a survey over recent months and asked accountants "Do you feel undervalued by clients ?" .

1/3 said they felt that way.  This begs 2 questions : -   (a) whether we find that surprising or not  (b) why is this so

If you are "the 1" let's hear from you - is it because you offer a poor service in the eyes of your clients ? I bet it is , but I also reckon you've got your head in the sand

Only 1? Are you sure?

I don't think it's got anything to do with poor service or having your head in the sand. I think it has more to do with people in general these days being selfish, self-centred grasping individuals who want everything for nothing and straight away. Very few people actually seem to care about their fellow human beings. They're too busy counting their friends on Facebook or taking selfies so they've a picture ready for the Daily Mail when they try and sue someone.

Cynical or realistic.

I'm going to build an ark - that way when global warming floods the planet I can just save some animals and say b*llocks to the human race (a few exceptions may be made for deserving cases)

As Flash says ....

Some people are impossible to please.

Others are very appreciative and I have received the occasional bottle of booze, bunch of flowers and box of chocolates from clients. I don't expect anything (except payment of my fee) so it is always a pleasant surprise .... and much appreciated. ;)

Client appreciation says as much about the clients of a practice, as the practice itself.

I imagine every practice will get the occasional moaner, but if they have a large percentage of moaners then they are doing something wrong, and it may be that they are unluckily attracting the wrong type of client and/or giving them false expectations.

Impossible to please

Of course, we all experience those who have an axe to grind with life in general , but 1 out 3 seems too high . What are the august regulatory bodies doing about it ? Do they even know or are they stuck in their ivory towers ?
