Benefit cuts will hit accountants where it hurts

Benefit cuts won't affect me , bring them on ! I suspect many nicely earning accountants will be thinking this as they pore over the columns of comment in their Daily Torygraph. Well, perhaps you shouldn't be feeling quite so smug , especially if you have investment properties or employ staff who have their meagre pay packets topped up by Uncle George at the Treasury.

I'll bet there's more than  a few of you accountants with employees who have negotiated a cosy deal to slip into the benefits system in a most efficient manner and save you a packet . Got a couple of spotty teenage juniors and a fifty-something family man on minimum wage ? Enjoy it while it lasts.

In this economic climate many a  landlord will blink before the tenant does so returns are going to head south , but many tenants will throw their hands up and declare themselves homeless so perhaps diversify your protfolio and invest in cardboard boxes.

Now there's an opportunity - advising clients how the benefits changes may affect them . Until of course the boys in Downing Street execute another U-turn

I've been blogging on my website www.formationsdirect.com for some time with my non-PC view of the world of economics, business and other stuff. If you like to read the views of somebody who doesn't "toe the party line" you've come to the right place. Government cock-ups, financial turmoil , business scandals and people's behaviour - I've got something to say about it , whether you like it or not.
